Propworx Caprica Auction Online!

Propworx is a great auction event service that delivers the highest quality of authentic memorabilia for any fan looking to get their hands on items directly from their favourite TV show or Movies. They got their start with a Battlestar Galactica Auction and now they do everything from Iron Man, Stargate, Kevin Smith Askewniverse and others.

And their most recent event will feature collectables from the Battlestar Galactica spinoff/prequel Caprica.

Propworx, in association with NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group, announces The Official Caprica Prop and Costume Auction. The auction will commence on January 2, 2011 with six weekly auctions hosted on eBay (see www.propworx.com for auction participation details). Hundreds of props, costumes, production artwork, concept drawings, and set pieces will be up for bid, starting with the first week of auctions January 2 – 9, 2011 and coinciding with the airing of the remaining five episodes of Caprica on Syfy on January 4, 2011 from 6pm to 11pm ET/PT.
Most notable among the lots is the spectacular purple dress worn by actress Alessandra Torresani as Zoe Graystone. Worn by Zoe throughout the entire series, this custom dress was made by production and features a spandex construction with silver braiding and faux jewels around the neckline.
Also up for sale is Lacy Rand’s Hero motorcycle helmet, worn by actress Magda Apanowicz. This screen-used helmet was worn by Lacy while riding Nestor’s motorcycle and includes vintage-looking goggles.

I have always supported the Propworx people as they always seem to have the fans interests at heart. One of the more amazing things they do is release these Catalogues for their larger events that showcase the auction items which is in itself a collector’s item. I have a few of them already and they are incredible.

Check out just some of the items up for grabs:

Some pretty awesome stuff there if you are a Caprica fan!

Red State Teaser Trailer Online

A teaser trailer was released on Kevin Smith’s Smodcast website showing a splattering of images from his upcoming Horror film Red State.

Red State is strongly influenced by religious extremists like Fred Phelps and while this teaser could have used a soundtrack, the singular voice singing away is also pretty creepy.

I cant wait to see what he does with this.

New I am Number Four Trailer Online

The suprisingly interesting “aliens among us” story I am Number Four is online and it looks great.

I like the feel of this. It has a little bit of Roswell to it, but some darker tension.

I am looking forward to this.

New Your Highness Trailer Online

A new trailer is out for Your Highness, and this time around its safe for work and television, but still promises to be a racy funny film.

I love how Portman seems to be the one playing it straight and she looks absolutely staggering in this (Zooey Dreschenel too), and it all looks like its coming together to be rather funny.

Tron Holiday Special Spoof Trailer Online

As a badge of pride I wear the emotional scar of surviving the Star Wars Holiday Special, which was aired once in 1977 and was truly terrible.

So when I saw this Funny or Die video spoofing the Star Wars Holiday Special with 1982's Classic Tron I couldn’t help but smile.

And while some people will look at this spoof trailer and think how this isn’t even funny to think they would have aired something like that, you are just scratching the surface of the Star Wars Holiday Special, because it was just that bad.

Full Paul Trailer Online

Still anticipating the third film of the Ice Cream Triology, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost team up again without Edgar Wright for Paul and we finally get a full trailer.

I like how Paul is visually the stereotypical alien, but they don’t make him all strange and awkward misunderstanding human culture. He is rather acclimated to Earth life, presumably from 60 some years of captivity in Area 51.

However Seth Rogen voicing the character is VERY Seth Rogen, and its almost distracting not to see Seth there.

New Smurfs Poster Online

A new poster for The Smufs is out, and while it doesn’t show much more than the previous teaser image (above) it again shows the three main Smufs exploring this strange new world called New York.

As pointed out by a New Yorker, that based on the angle and viewpoint that the Smurfs appear to be peering over the Big Apple Skyline, they appear to be on the roof of 30 Rockafeller, home of NBC and GE – rivals to the Sony Corporation, who are the ones putting out The Smurfs.

But its a good poster that shows the Smufs treading on new territory. I just wish it was taking place more in medieval times, but we will see how it plays out.

Tron Jeremy Spoof Trailer Online

Spoof Trailer videos seem to be saturating the net so much that everyone and their dog is doing it and its hard to find good ones.

This spoof of the Tron Legacy trailer is one of those rare occassions where the tongue is firmly planted in cheek.

Check out Tron Jeremy. Featuring adult film star Ron Jeremy.

Loved that. I wish they had done a better job implanting Jeremy’s younger face, but still pretty damned funny.

Burton’s Failed Superman Lives Test Footage Online

Just as I use the Star Wars Holiday Special to put into perspective about how the Star Wars Prequels are not as bad as they could have been, I now have ammunition to put Superman Returns in perspective.

One of the many failed starts to a Superman film was once in the hands of Tim Burton, and while I do enjoy a number of his films I don’t know how I could see this and think it was cool. Steven Johnson, the Special Effects creator posted some test footage of one of the Superman costumes for Burton’s “Superman Lives” version.

Now before we jump to any conclusions, this could have been a Kryptonian suit of some sort, and not the real costume, but it seems people are reporting this as the actual costume intended to be used for Superman in the film. If he simply wore this outfit while hanging out in the Fortress of Solitude, or if it was the uniform of the House of El’s security forces or something, that could still work even though it looks silly.

Looks like there were a few reasons Burton’s version never flew.

Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death Trailer Online

I have never been a fan of Wallace and Gromit, so the feature films haven’t exactly excited me. But I am a fan of stop motion animation so I hold out hope that it will impress me. Sadly it hasnt.

Check out the trailer for Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death:

One thing I do like about Wallace and Gromit is the fun little puns they use, and this is no exception. Its still not enough to make me enjoy the movies and I have seen a few. The title alone has me smirking, but so far the trailer hasn’t made me change my anticipation.

Disney’s Prom Poster Online

A new poster is out for Disney’s documentary styled story about teenagers leading up to Prom.

I like the description that Prom is like the Olympics. “You wait four years for it, only three people have a good time and everyone else gets to live on with shattered dreams.”

That pretty much sums up the angsty teen negativity, and it looks like the movie will contrast that with some feelgood moments too. Check out the trailer if you hadn’t already:

I am borderline interested and nothing has made me want to see this, but its securely on my rentals list now.

Water for Elephants Trailer Online

Just something about this reminds me of the whimsy of Big Fish (which I loved), but not quite so mystical. Robert Pattinson attempts to outrun his vampire typecasting and will star alongside Reese Witherspoon in Water for Elephants – a love story with a travelling circus as its stage.

I am really digging the vibe of this film, and I have been waiting for Pattinson to do something more than Twilight. The guy is a capable actor and he deserves so much more. And Reese Witherspoon looks absolutely captivating in this!

Sucker Punch Featurette Online

There is a new featurette online for Sucker Punch, and the more I see stuff on this super stylized asskicking girlfest, the more I want to see it.

I love how this is not even trying to be appolgetic about how sexy and stylized this is. Its all fantasy and super crazy visuals.

I can’t wait.

Fast Five Teaser Trailer Online

A Teaser Trailer for Fast Five the latest Fast and Furious film with Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.

The trailer is as expected with hot cars, action, chases and chaotic stunts.

I would expect nothing less from a Fast and Furious film.

Jason Lee’s Skateboarding Series Details Online

Jason Lee is one of the most underrated comedic actors out there. He is amazing in everything he does, and I even count Alvin and the Chipmunks. That wasn’t his fault. My Name is Earl was just brilliant.

But now details are emerging on his new Skateboarding project which will be a TV show for Adult Swim and the plot line seems oddly familar. Cinemablend lays it down for you:
Lee will play a forty-two year old former skateboarding virtuoso who wakes up from a coma twenty-five years after attempting an ill-fated trick. The man’s name? Jon Johnsonsen. He’ll reportedly struggle to adapt to the ‘aughts, as well as with mentally being a seventeen year old stuck in a middle-aged body. You may remember Lee was at one time a professional skateboarder before he altered course and became a movie star.

Don’t get me wrong, because I just love Jason Lee.

But isn’t this EXACTLY Jamie Kennedy’s Kickin It Old Skool? (guilty pleasure alert)

Ok, not exactly. Instead of Skateboarding it was Breakdancing. Kennedy pulls off a stunt in a breakdancing contest to impress the girl and ends up in a coma for 25 years and wakes up an adult but with the mentality of a 17 year old.

I want to hope for the best, and I know some films lay on similar themes and that’s cool, but so far this sounds like the same story.

Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides Trailer Online

A new teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is online and I have to say I really want to see these characters again.

I am just not feeling Penelope Cruz in this. I think one of the things I liked is that Jack Sparrow wasn’t burdened with a love interest and it looks like they are treading on that with Cruz in the trailer. Its not directly suggested, but I hope my gut on that is wrong and she become a dangerous rival instead.

The part that resonated most with me is the line saying “There’s the Jack I know!” as it seems to have double meaning in and out of the film. Depp looks to be on his Sparrow best shape, and I can’t wait to see this.
